Sjaak (Leeuwarden, 1962) studied school music and trumpet at the conservatory in Groningen.
Under the influence of world music workshops Wouter Swets he specialized in Balkan music. As a trumpeter he is inspired by Constantine and Gherghina and he developed a unique style. Besides the trumpet, he plays piano and accordion. Sjaak has worked as a music teacher and conductor The Leeuwarden Accordion Ensemble. His arrangements for wind band and its music publishing recently published by Gobelin and enthusiastically received and played.
